REFURBISHMENT AND RETRO-FIT

Refurbishment and Retro-Fit are helpful to economize certain applications.

Refurbishment refers to restoration of an entire system or even a plant that has suffered severe damage, has been inoperative for longer durations or has been proposed to undergo upgrade, expansion or modernization.

Retro-fit refers to a similar activity but on a small scale and is limited usually to a single equipment or a system.

Both the concepts offer considerable economy in terms of capital investment and time by optimum utilization of existing infra-structure and modification in the same to reach to required up-grade.

Energy Integra offers integrated services that cover various aspects from feasibility studies to implementation.

  • Comprehensive inspection & testing at field.
  • Submittal of report including health of installation & budgetary cost estimates for restoration.
  • As built drawing and documentation for implementation.
  • Design, detail engineering, vendor / field co-ordination, supervision
  • Procurement assistance
  • Testing & commissioning
  • Continued support

A typical example of retro-fit is refurbishment of an LV switchboard, where old Air Circuit Breakers could be retro-fitted with new ones at field. Considerable downtime and loss of process is avoidable by retro-fitting ACBs at field in planned phased shutdown and a new improved protection / control scheme, trouble-shoot, etc could be incorporated.

An entire plant or electrical installation may be refurbished through optimization.
